Phil Monks Ph.D

Data and Compliance Officer

Phil joined Parker Walsh in 2024 and brings with him nearly two decades of experience in data analysis, programming and technical problem-solving. His background includes working across finance and the mathematical sciences, where he developed a strong understanding of complex data, systems and analytical processes.

Phil completed his PhD at the University of Manchester in 2006. His thesis was titled Theories of Time-Dependent and Time-Independent Nearside-Farside Reactive Scattering Dynamics, which is every bit as complicated as it sounds and, thankfully for the rest of the Parker Walsh team, rarely comes up in day-to-day conversation.

At Parker Walsh, Phil supports the business with the development of its data operations, internal systems and compliance procedures. His role includes helping the team work more efficiently, improving how information is managed and ensuring that regulatory requirements are met. With a keen eye for detail and a calm, methodical approach, Phil plays an important part in supporting the continued growth and professional standards of the firm.

Phil also has the unique challenge of being married to the boss, which means his commitment to Parker Walsh continues long after office hours — whether he likes it or not.

When he is not staring at lines of code on his monitor, reviewing data or working on the vegetable patch, Phil enjoys joining Molly to walk Reggie, particularly when the route happens to involve a pub and a well-earned pint.
